Kenya Votes "Yes" to new constitution


Overnight the votes were completed and the winner announced. Kenyans voted YES to the new constitution. 


We've been keeping updated with the news around the country and so far, things have been incredibly peaceful and quiet.

The official final results for the referendum vote started coming in on Thursday morning, with President Kibaki leading ministers in delivering the 'Yes' vote.

Kenya’s referendum was peaceful even in the areas identified as potential conflict zones. An organisation working with the Kenyan government to monitor cases of incitement and violence during the referendum said; “so far, the security presence across the country is “extremely reassuring to Kenyans.”
